Aviation incident and accident investigation

An investigation involves several steps, including:       

1. Information gathering

• Following an event, the investigator goes to the scene to gather information (testimonies, interviews, documents, photos, etc.).

2. Data analysis

• An important part of the work involves analyzing the collected data to reconstruct the sequence of events in order to identify the root cause and underlying causes of the event.

3. The report and recommendations

• At the end of the investigation, a detailed report is written which includes technical analyses, conclusions on the causes of the event and recommendations to be made.
